Do You Even Bake Girl?!

Hello Lovely!

Today I’m going to talk about baking. No, not the type you do in the kitchen. The kind of baking you do on your face. Yea, I know what you are probably thinking…”What in the world is baking your face?!?!” Don’t feel bad, I literally didn’t fully know what baking your face entailed till today. Sooo you aren’t too far off from me haha.

Baking your face is when you use a translucent or tinted powder to “bake” or set on your highlight points for 5-10 minutes. This allows your face to essentially warm the powder, and really set your foundation and concealer into your skin, leaving you with a flawless finished look.

After learning about this interesting technique, I decided I should probably try it out. Because you know, I’m all about that highlight. Seriously, the more the better!! I’m talking I want to blind you haha. So I’m not going to lie, I was surprised at how amazing my skin looked after. Plus it gave me a flawless look for my selfies. I seriously couldn’t get over the difference from a selfie with and without baking. I’m not lying when I say the ONLY editing to these pictures are my watermark. Baking made my skin look that flawless!

Now I’m not saying you NEED to bake your face, because honestly, its not for everyone. But this is a seriously awesome technique to learn, and have for special occasions. Below I’m going to include three YouTube videos. These will all in some way help you understand more about baking, and I personally found these to be the most helpful.

First, here is a video about 7 Things You Need To Know Before You Bake Your Makeup by Beauty Junkie. In this video it is explained what baking is, and why it isn’t necessarily for everyone.

Second, here is a video about Beauty 101 | How to Bake/Cook Your Face! by Huda Beauty. She really focuses on how to bake.

Third, here is a video about How To Get Perfect Skin With Makeup by James Charles. This is the most similar makeup routine to what I did. He explains it well, and really talks about why he does each step.

Now that I’ve explained what baking is, and gave you some awesome resources, go out there and try to bake your face girl!
