Boxy And Chill Review

Hello Lovely!

Every month I recieve this fabulous box from BoxyCharm. You may have heard of it before. BoxyCharm is a monthly subscription box that includes 4-5 full size beauty products. This subscription box has became my favorite mail, and for a very good reason! I’ll give you a peek at what a month may look like.

This months box included Briogeo’s Don’t Despair, Repair! Strength + Moisture Leave-In Mask 20oz., Tarte’s Rainforest Of The Sea Sizzle Eyeshadow Palette, Chella’s Taupe Eyebrow Cream, Tatcha’s Luminous Dewy Skin Face Mask (2 pack), and Bite’s Amuse Bouche. Plus you always receive coupons for some of the brands in the box. All of this is $21 a month(even less if you agree to 3, 6, or 12 months), BUT this box is valued at $128. Did your jaw drop? This is exactly why I love this box so much. Plus because of BoxyCharm I’ve ventured deeper into makeup and have got to use products I wouldn’t have bought otherwise. Which is because I’m totally the Mom who talks myself out of purchases for myself because I could get something for the kids instead. Palm to the face haha.

It’s more than ok to treat yourself, mom or not. Go get yourself a new top, or maybe a new necklace, or heck go out and splurge on that makeup palette you have been eyeing down. I’ve been getting better at it for myself haha.

Now to my review, and my first thoughts of each product in this month’s box. This is the look I came up with using the Tarte pallette and Bite lipstick.

First product I used was the Chella Taupe Eyebrow Cream $26. The description of the product by BoxyCharm is as follows: “Add some wow to your brows. This innovative eyebrow cream effortlessly defines and shapes your eyebrows with its creamy consistency, and built-in brush. The velvet-like formula makes blending easy, then sets, giving you perfect brows that will last all day and night.” I’m not going to lie, at first I was really nervous about this prouct. Mostly because the color looked waaaay too light for me. But also I’ve been using strictly just eyeshadow that is a shade darker than my hair on my brows for what seems like forever now haha. I find eyeshadow easy to blend and it’s easy to apply. But this product is a game changer. It went on so nicely, easy to blend, and the brush was the perfect way to apply a nice brow shape. Plus my eyebrows looked exactly how I applied them all the way up till I took my makeup off before bed. Honestly I feel like the description couldn’t have been any better. I would definitely recommend this!

Next product I used was the Tarte Rainforest Of The Sea Sizzle Palette$36. The description of the product by BoxyCharm is as follows: “Get that golden hour glow with these eight, sunset-inspired eyeshadow shades. This buttery cushion formula easily glides onto the lid, while the antioxidant-charged marine plant extracts help hydrate & protect the lids. The coconut oil and vitamin E deliver intense moisture and condition the skin to help reduce the appearance of fine lines.” By first glance I was obsessed with the case of the palette. Shiny gold trim, with a beautiful pink glitter top. If you know me well then you know I LOVE glitter and my favorite color is pink. So put them together and I see perfection! It was off to a great start haha. This palette has 8 beautiful shades, I only wish they would have placed one more matte over a shimmer. But all in all each shade is gorgeous. The shadow definitely goes on very smooth, but these don’t seem to be highly pigmented. So I found myself having to do a couple layers of a color to get to my liking. This isn’t something that bothered me, as I like to layer and blend to my liking, but some may find this as a con. I also love that these shadows have all the extra goodies to nourish the skin on our lids. You know I did just talk about preventing wrinkles haha.

Then I used the Bite Amuse Bouche in shade Spritzer $26. The description of the product by BoxyCharm is as follows: “This high-impact lipstick in multi-dimensional shades was handcrafted to deliver intense moisture and creamy wear. This lipstick serves, bold, creamy color and an unforgettable sensorial experience in a single swipe.” The shade I received was a little more bold than I usually wear, but I decided to use it as an undertone to another lipstick. It is a bold pink purple shade, and the lipstick comes in a gorgeous matte black case. So I applied to my lips, and my gosh this stuff glides on! I’ve never had a lipstick that went on so smooth, and I couldn’t believe how creamy it truly was. I then put my Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in shade Lolita over top. This made a beautiful lip shade. I’ll definitely be looking at their other shades because the way this lipstick glides on was enough of a selling point for me.

After my day was over and all my makeup was removed I used the Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mask(pack of 2)$24. The description of the product by BoxyCharm is as follows: “Nourish skin from within using this lightweight blend of rice germ oil, vitamin E, essential fatty acids and highly concentrated botanical oils and extracts. Each mask is designed for maximum absorption, delivering 20ML of skin-quenching serum and imparting an instant dewy, luminous glow. A scientifically perfected trio of fermented Japanese anti-aging superfoods like green tea, rice, and algae instantly restore skin’s health and radiance.” With this face mask I had a funny experience. I took the mask out of the package and was surprised by all the liquid that came out with the mask. As I applied the mask I couldn’t stop laughing because all I could think about was how I looked like the guy from Texas Chainsaw Massacre. You know the guy who kills everyone and wears their skin hahah. Yea, that’s totally what I looked like. To top it off i couldn’t get the upper lip area to stay put, it kept sling down (probably because I have a small face). BUT oh my gosh I couldn’t get over how soft my face was after the mask. Plus all the heavenly extra mask juice you better believe I had to rub that into my skin! I mean look at all the amazing things in this mask. Oh and it smelled great, which is good since this mask stays on for 15 minutes. Also they aren’t kidding this mask 100% gives your skin a dewy glow you’ll want to see more often!

Next day after showered and with damp hair I used the Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Strength + Moisture Leave-In Mask 20oz $16. The description of the product by BoxyCharm is as follows: “This super-moisturizing and strengthening leave-in conditioner provides reparative benefits and beyond. Its unique formulation of micro-encapsulated argan oil and an optimal blend of transformative nutrients that include B-vitamins, coconut oil, algae extract and biotin help to improve healthy hair that will leave you looking your very best.” I was really excited about this product since it was the first hair product I’ve got in my box. It comes in a spraybottle, which you use to spray your damp hair. It sprayed very evenly and came out like a mist. The smell of the spray is nice, which thank God no one wants their hair to smell haha. But so far from what I can tell it has made my hair feel softer, and it was much easier to brush through tangles. I’m excited what long term benefits my hair will reap from this mask.

This box has definitely been one of my favorites. If you are intrested in getting your own subscription head over to BoxyCharm with my referral link here.

I’m in love with the palette, I’ve never had a eyeshadow that went on so smooth. Plus that eyebrow gel is bomb, I’m picky about eyebrow makeup so this was a shocker. You wouldn’t regret getting BoxyCharm, I always love everything I get in my boxes. I’m signing up for another 6 months haha.
