In A World Full Of Grinches, Be A Cindy Lou Who!
Hello Lovely!
December is here! You know what that means?! Everyone and their Mama’s will be going to some sort of Holiday party, or even hosting one themselves. If you are one of those people, which I hope you are….I have an extra fabulous hairstyle that will give you all the Holiday Cheer needed!
I hope you are a fan of How The Grinch Stole Christmas! If not, you should probably just leave this blog now haha. You won’t appreciate this hair tutorial. The Grinch is such a classic to throw on once the Holiday season approaches. So much to love, giggle with your family and friends, and truly will just warm your heart at the end.
So lets get to it! I’ve come up with a cheerful holiday hair tutorial for……drum roll please……Cindy Lou Who!!! Yes, that sweet little girl with the crazy tall hair! I promise its easier than it looks.
Things you’ll need:
- Water Bottle
- Comb
- Bobby Pins
- Small Hair Ties
- Hair Spray
- Curling Iron (Optional)
Step One- Section the hair around your face into three sections. (Middle of ear to middle of ear) You will come back to these sections later.
Step Two- Behind your three sections you are going to section off a two inch area.
Step Three- Take a slice of hair from back, tease this area. This will be used to hide the plastic bottle from being seen through your hair. Put the teased hair with your two inch section.
Step Four- Position water bottle on top of head. Pull two inch section, along with tease area, and tie around the base of the bottle cap with a small hair tie.
Step Five- Take a slice of hair from back, again you will tease your hair. This is going to do the same as above and hide the water bottle from being seen.
Step Six- Pull the rest of your hair from the back up over the water bottle. Use another small hair tie to keep hair around the base of the bottle cap. Take the hair tips at the top, pull all the way over the bottle cap, and use another small hair tie to secure it completely over the water bottle.
Step Seven- This step you may need a bigger hair tie, though you can still use a smaller hair tie, it just took me a couple tries without it breaking. Take a hair tie and place over your hair, all the way down to the base of the water bottle. This will secure the bottle more, and keep your hair in place better.
Step Eight- Go back to the three sections we did in the beginning. Braid both of the sections on the sides of your head. I started with a French Braid, picking up pieces as I went. Then once off the head, I did a basic braid.
Step Nine- Using a bobby pin, pin the braids at base of water bottle. This will make the look of the loop.
Step Ten- Section off a small slice from top of the middle section and put to the side. We will need this to be the top layer of your faux bang.
Step Eleven- Tease the remainder of the section at the base. Then gently brush over using the small slice you put aside in last step, you want it to look smooth and hide the teased hair.
Step Twelve- Hold the section together at the tips of the hair. Start to roll the hair under, keeping a hollow center.
Step Thirteen- Using bobby pins, pin underneath near your hairline. You may have to play around with your roll. Make it fuller, or fix gaps, by pulling or tucking pieces of hair.
Step Fourteen- This is where you can take the time to curl ends of your hair. I was able to skip this part by curling the hair with my fingers and spraying hair spray. Once you have done this, give your hair style a good spray down of hair spray. The stronger hold the better, you really don’t want this look to budge.
Step Fifteen- To finish off your look, add a beautiful red bow. Tie at the base of the bottle cap.
Now you are ready to become this years Holiday Cheermeister of Whoville!
Go enjoy all your festive plans for the month! I hope you are able to include this cheerful hairstyle in your holiday events.
